Principal Software Engineer / Techincal lead

We are looking for an experienced software engineer and system architect to take a central role in shaping and building the next phase of Current.

This is a senior hands-on role for someone who can move confidently between implementation, architecture, technical direction, and strategic decisions. You should also have the experience and credibility to lead other technical people formally, drive important decisions, and work closely with product leadership and business stakeholders.

We are looking for someone with substantial experience building production systems, making architectural decisions with long-term impact, and working in technically demanding environments. Since our platform is built primarily on C#/.NET and Azure, we expect at least 5 years of relevant experience working with C#/.NET.

Experience from EV charging is highly relevant. Experience from fintech/payments, energy, mobility, or similarly complex platform businesses will also be considered relevant.

You will play a key role in both the technical and product direction of the company.

Your responsibilities will include:

• designing and evolving core system architecture
• making and driving important technical decisions
• contributing directly to implementation and code
• leading and mentoring other engineers
• working closely with product leadership on priorities and trade-offs
• helping ensure that the platform remains robust, scalable, and commercially relevant
• bringing structure and clarity to complex technical and cross-functional challenges

Current is a software company in the EV charging space, building and operating a platform for charging infrastructure and related services. We work in a technically demanding domain shaped by integrations, operational reliability, hardware constraints, and evolving commercial requirements.

Practical details

This is a permanent position. We are open to both remote and hybrid setups for the right candidate.
