How You Will Make an Impact:

• Design and develop Java-based backend services and microservices in a cloud-native environment
• Build, maintain, and enhance RESTful APIs used by internal and external systems
• Contribute to the development and evolution of scalable, secure, and reliable backend solutions
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from implementation and testing to deployment and support
• Collaborate closely with other engineers, architects, and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
• Optimize performance, reliability, and maintainability across distributed services
• Write clean, testable code and contribute to managing technical debt responsibly
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge within the team
• Create and maintain clear and practical technical documentation
• Stay curious and engaged with modern Java and backend development practices
  
  
  

What Makes You a Great Fit:

• Practical experience building backend services using Spring Boot (3+)
• Solid hands-on experience with Java (preferably Java 17+ / Java 21), including modern language features
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design, implementation, and integration
• Experience applying clean code principles, writing maintainable code, and implementing automated tests
• Familiarity with software design principles such as SOLID, KISS, and YAGNI
• Experience working in cloud-based or distributed systems, ideally on AWS
• Basic to intermediate exposure to AWS services such as Lambda (Java runtime), API Gateway, CloudWatch, or similar
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and the importance of monitoring and operational stability
• Experience in banking, finance, or other regulated environments is a strong advantage
• Experience with Quarkus will be considered as an advantage
• Ownership mindset with the ability to work independently while knowing when to collaborate
• Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on the Pan-Baltic level
