We are looking for a motivated professional to join our team in our Caulfield North office.

You will be helping us maintain and scale the world’s most comprehensive nutrition and food database.

As part of our newly formed AI Innovations team, you will be the bridge between cutting edge AI research and practical engineering.

You will design solutions that actively remove manual work, enhance our core systems, and deliver exciting innovations to our millions of users worldwide.

As the global standard for nutrition and food data, fatsecret provides the foundational intelligence for the health industry. Founded in Melbourne, we’ve built a platform that now powers the health ecosystems of global leaders like Amazon, Samsung, and Fitbit.

With a database of 2.3 million verified food items and over 700 million API calls every month, our technology directly impacts the health journeys of millions across 58 countries.

We are now expanding our AI Innovations Team to turn this massive dataset into production ready intelligence.

What You’ll Do

• Build & Ship: Prototype quickly and turn high potential ideas into production ready GenAI tools and agents.
• Architect Agentic Systems: Build and embed AI agents into core operations to automate complex, multi-step workflows.
• Full-Stack Integration: Use Python, APIs, and cloud services (AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, LangGraph) to integrate LLMs with enterprise systems.
• Reliability & Observability: Ensure AI systems are robust by implementing monitoring, evaluation, and MLOps-style observability.

Your Toolkit

• Local Experience: At least 1 years of professional working experience within Australia is required.
• AI Proof: ~1 year of hands-on experience building GenAI solutions in real-world environments.
• Software Engineering: 3+ years of experience with strong Python and scripting skills.
• Production Instincts: You’ve deployed GenAI to live systems and know how to operate them over time.
• Cloud Fluency: Experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP.
