Data Platform & AI Lead F/M - LU875465
A Luxembourg-based alternative asset manager is looking for a Data Platform & AI Lead F/M to own and scale their data capability from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CFO/COO, you will drive the shift from fragmented reporting to a governed, scalable data product portfolio and build AI agents that automate key operational workflows.
This is a high-impact, standalone role for someone who combines deep technical expertise with the pragmatism to deliver in a lean, fast-moving environment.
What you'll do:
- Own the full data platform lifecycle: reliability, change control, documentation, and continuous development
- Build and maintain data pipelines, models, and reusable datasets supporting reporting and analytics
- Develop and maintain Power BI reporting outputs (including Paginated Reports) used in daily operations
- Implement pragmatic data quality controls and reduce manual corrections across reporting cycles
- Translate business needs into structured delivery: clear definitions, acceptance criteria, and quality thresholds
- Scope, build, and deploy AI agents to augment firm workflows (investor queries, data reconciliation, document extraction)
- Own the full AI solution lifecycle, design, testing, deployment, monitoring with consistent governance standards
- Manage vendors and consultants with clear direction and structured knowledge transfer
Scope boundaries
In scope: data platform ownership, data development standards, data quality and control approach, contribution to technology strategy, application support only where directly related to data platform integrations and data feeds.
Out of scope: general IT service desk, system configuration or feature development within core systems, ICT security and compliance.
What we're looking for:
- 6+ years in data platform operations or data engineering with enterprise-grade reporting delivery
- Previous experience within an asset manager, a Big 4, or a specialist financial services provider is an asset
- Strong Power BI expertise including Paginated Reports and complex DAX
- Hands-on experience deploying AI-powered solutions or intelligent automation in an enterprise context
- Solid SQL skills and understanding of modern data stack tooling
- Knowledge of RAG patterns, prompt engineering, and agent orchestration
- Awareness of AI governance and regulatory frameworks (DORA, GDPR, AI Act)
- Fluent English required (written and spoken)
- Collaborative mindset, curiosity, and a pragmatic can-do attitude you thrive in a lean team where ownership and initiative matter
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of private markets platforms (FIS Private Capital Suite, eFront, DealCloud)
- ETL/ELT tools: Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Airflow
- Python for API-based ingestion and data integration
- Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, or Copilot Studio
