Data Scientist - Remote (Madrid)

Our client are No 1 wholesaler in the world for luxury resorts in the Maldives and Seychelles and have recently expanded into new destinations in UAE and South Africa. They have offices in the UK, Dubai, Maldives, Seychelles, and South Africa. They have a reputation for excellence across all parts of the business whether it is the service they offer to clients or the working environment of staff, which they believe is very important. They provide an online platform to travel platforms that uniquely is designed to offer the most advanced products on the market specifically designed for high net worth clients.

The Company is part way through a digital transformation, and this is a project for an ambitious and highly skilled junior Data Scientist to join the team. You will be working closely with our development team, marketing, sales and product development teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with product to provide data-driven insights that will help drive significant increase in core business KPIs (growth, revenue, engagement).
• Create internal dashboards to monitor the health of the product and business KPIs (growth, revenue, engagement with Tableau and similar BI tools.
• Deliver ad-hoc analyses and reports to support business needs, investigate, triage and resolve metrics-based issues without heavy guidance.
• Create and share compelling presentations that motivates and inspires the team to build with conviction.
• When necessary, build models in systems that help us better measure and understand the results of experiments or user flows.
• Partner with teams across the organization to understand their analytics needs and create dashboards and reporting that allow them to execute more effectively.
• Provide access to data through dashboards and other analytical tools to empower through self-service. Design, develop and maintain business dashboards to track KPIs across marketing, operations and product linked activities.
• Look for opportunities to automate insights through alerting and anomaly detection.
• Ad-hoc reporting and analytics for the Sales, Finance, Product, Marketing, and Operations teams.
• Implement business intelligence tools like looker/tableau for dashboard reports.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and 2/3 + years post-collegiate work experience as a product/marketing analyst or data scientist.
• Ability to organize and present complex data to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience designing and reading out experiments.
• Very good understanding of database – Mongo and Postgress.
• Proficient with SQL: and can write well optimized queries including a variety of functions and subqueries as well as a strong understanding of databases and business intelligence tools.
• Python programming experience.
• Desired experience in the development and design of dashboards using business intelligence tools such as Tableau.
• Desired experience in version control software.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience solving ambiguous problems using data.
• Ability to analyse data and condense data to tell a persuasive story.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams.
• Self-starter, with ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, drive change through influence, and collaborate effectively with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders. Excited and hungry to try new tools and processes to achieve results.
