DevOps Consultant

We are supporting a specialist information technology organisation on several business-critical cloud and platform initiatives as part of their digital transformation. For a long-term programme, we are looking for an experienced Cloud & DevOps Engineer to help design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and modern CI/CD practices supporting critical applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployments
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and security across cloud platforms
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot infrastructure or deployment issues
• Collaborate with development teams to embed DevOps best practices into delivery workflows
• Support containerised environments using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure, deployment processes, and operational standards
• Promote DevOps culture and knowledge sharing across engineering teams

Required Skills

• Strong experience as a Cloud Engineer or DevOps Engineer
• Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design and automation
• Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker
• Experience supporting Kubernetes environments
• Familiarity with microservices-based architectures
• Strong troubleshooting and monitoring experience in cloud environments
• Comfortable working with development teams in Agile environments

Other Desired Skills

• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK
• Knowledge of cloud security, governance, and cost optimisation practices
• Experience supporting high-availability production systems
• Strong documentation and operational process management skills
• Interest in platform engineering and DevOps culture
