Senior/ Staff Backend Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for experienced Backend Engineers to join our Warsaw-based teams. This is a versatile role where we match your seniority to our current challenges. You will assume development and operational responsibility for a platform that serves millions globally, focusing on maximizing retention and creating intelligent, personalized customer journeys.

While the Senior level focuses on technical excellence within a domain, the Staff level takes this further by driving the technical vision and execution for systems preparing to scale by 10x and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable web applications
• Own architecture and key system design decisions
• Drive best engineering practices (clean code, testing, CI/CD, DevOps)
• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of digital platforms
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-impact features
• Mentor engineers and support technical growth within the team
• Contribute to data-driven experimentation and optimization initiatives

Key Requirements

• Proficiency in Go and/or PHP (we are also open to JVM engineers willing to pivot).
• Deep expertise in Microservices and Distributed Systems.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and/or RabbitMQ.
• Mastery of Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud-native environments.
• Strong knowledge of Relational Databases, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and GraphQL.
• Solid experience in Unit & E2E Testing and CI/CD pipelines.
