Senior Project Manager - Construction
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with 8+ years of experience in the construction industry to lead and manage complex construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project execution, from planning and budgeting to delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. This role requires exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to manage cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Oversee all phases of construction, including pre-construction, construction, and close-out.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor project teams, including project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors.
- Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are met.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure clear communication of project updates, risks, and resolutions.
- Budget and Cost Control:
- Monitor project budgets and financial performance.
- Review and approve change orders, contracts, and purchase orders.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and problem-solving.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and reports.
- Present project updates to senior management and clients as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: Minimum 8+ years of experience in construction project management, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making skills to address challenges effectively.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager).
- Experience with large-scale commercial, residential, or industrial construction projects.
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices and LEED certification.
