Software Test Engineer

We Are Looking For An Experienced Software Test Engineer to work in Ponsse Technology, R&D team in Finland.

In this role, you will ensure that different kinds of machine automation features are implemented with high quality, adequate performance and according to possible safety regulations. You strive to find the unexpected behavior in the complex and varying systems of forest machines.

In addition to the most obvious cases, you are able to combine your knowledge about the system with creativity for improving the product quality of Ponsse forest machines. In contrast, following the defined process meticulously does not lower your motivation. Furthermore, you are interested to operate the Ponsse machines in the very first testing phases both in an innovative and safe way.

What do we expect from you?

• A bachelors`s or master´s degree in automation, software engineering or a related field
• Experience in software testing or machine automation, preferably in the field of non-road mobile machines
• Software development skills and understanding how automated software testing works
• Basic knowledge of hydraulically actuated systems
• Motivation and keen attitude to apply machine directive and related functional safety standards into software testing
• Qualified applicant is a good combination of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities and effective communication
• Good communication skills both verbally and written in English and Finnish

As a person you have an ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners, as well as troubleshoot and resolve system issues effectively. You are proactive, technically skilled and take initiative. You also have strong problem-solving skills and work in a diverse team and see solutions rather than problems.

You will be part of the Ponsse’s Technology, R&D team, reporting to Engineering Manager, Operator Assistance Systems.

Your working location will be in Finland Kajaani, Tampere, Kuopio or Vieremä, but we are working in hybrid model. Some amount of travelling will be required in this role.
