Job Purpose: The Events Manager (EM) is responsible for developing and maintaining effective and profitable client relationships, with a focus on events, while building collaborative and productive internal relationships to ensure that the work presented to our clients is of the best of standards. The EM should have an eye for detail and be strategically minded, handling client event projects, as well as their management, effortlessly. He/she works closely with various parties in the business and manages events from A to Z for both existing as well as new and potential clients, as required.
Ker Responsibilities:
- Be the principal project lead and point of contact for client events, for one or more clients, ensuring agreements and scope are managed as per client and agency requirements
- Build trusted and long-standing relationships with clients based on trust, while keeping agency interests in mind and acting in a event and communications advisory role to the client
- Understand client’s business and requirements, translating them into clear and detailed briefs and feedback for the integrated agency team as well as external vendors
- Management of the full event and communication cycle from client brief to implementation along with the day to day request from the client
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors in the best interest of client and the agency, if needed
- Generate accurate and timely status and billing reports, ensuring the project management tool is utilized at all times and budgets/timelines produced and maintained for any client requirement
- Maintain invoicing processes and follow up payments as/when required
- Create and present, with the help of HOD, GM and other stakeholders, strategy, reports, ideas, pitches and other pro-active measures to clients, existing and potential
- Be the guardian of agency event output to dedicated clients, establishing compliance with agency and client quality standards and process
- Collaborate with HOD and NB to upsell agency services to clients whenever possible, always keeping agency interests in mind
- Management and mentorship of agency team members and other colleagues, where applicable
- Proactive project management that encourages all involved in events to perform to the best of their ability
- Support client servicing and other operational teams by proactively forecasting and sharing trends and ideas noted for clients and the industry in general
- Always be available for our clients, while demonstrating strong communication skills with challenging client requests or issue escalations
- Guiding (junior) members of the team, as/when required
Key Requirements:
- At least 3-5 year’s experience as event or project manager of high-profile and other events
- Minimum BA/BS in business administration, marketing, sales or relevant field
- Solid experience with MS Office
- Demonstrated ability to present to and influence key stakeholders internally and externally, able to produce professional presentations and documents
- Meticulous project management skills, dealing with multiple work streams simultaneously and familiarity with online project management systems
- Good understanding and knowledge of all communications channels
- Knows the market and the kind of trends that apply to communications at large and events in specific
- Willingness to be committed to the job, even if that means working in evenings or on weekends
- Team player and player, who is able to motivate other colleagues to produce work to the required standard and to the required deadlines
- Calm under pressure and supportive of colleagues at all times
