Frontend Developer

We are supporting a leading European financial services organisation on a strategic digital transformation program focused on modernising and insourcing their web platforms and advisor portals. We are looking for an experienced Frontend Developer to support the build of cloud-native web solutions and deliver an enhanced user experience across digital platforms.

Logistics

• Role: Freelance Frontend Developer (React)
• Contract: 12+ months (extension likely)
• Location: Austria (Hybrid – details TBC)
• Languages: English required (German B1+ is a plus)
• Start Date: ASAP / Flexible
• Rate: Competitive & negotiable

Responsibilities

• Develop new cloud-native web applications and portals
• Modernise and improve existing web platforms
• Build reusable, standardised frontend components
• Integrate design systems into production code (Storybook, visual testing)
• Ensure code quality through reviews and testing
• Work within an agile team environment
• Integrate frontend solutions with REST APIs
• Support performance, accessibility, SEO, and cross-browser compatibility

Required Skills

• IT education or equivalent professional experience
• Strong frontend engineering background
• Advanced JavaScript, React, and TypeScript
• Solid knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
• Experience with design systems and responsive development
• Experience working with REST APIs (JSON, XML)
• Strong English communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence and CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to AWS and cloud-native environments
• German language skills (B1+)
• Experience in financial services or regulated industries
