We’re partnering with a global journey planning platform used by millions of travellers to figure out how to get anywhere in the world.

They’re hiring a Mid-Level Frontend Engineer to join their Melbourne-based team. This team owns display ads, partner integrations, and revenue-generating features across multiple platforms. You’ll be a frontend-leaning engineer - building user-facing experiences end-to-end, while comfortably stepping into backend code when needed.

This is less about defining architecture from scratch and more about independent delivery, collaboration with strong seniors, and growing into bigger ownership over time.

What you’ll work on:

Build monetisation experiences

• Develop advertising and partner features using React + TypeScript
• Implement display ads and third-party integrations
• Improve existing revenue-generating user journeys

Ship independently (with support)

• Own small–medium features end-to-end
• Work within projects scoped by senior engineers
• Check in when needed - not micromanaged, not isolated

Collaborate across the stack

• Work closely with backend engineers
• Occasionally make pragmatic .NET/C# changes
• Partner with product and design on real user experiences

Immediate priority: ramp up on the codebase and contribute to ongoing partner integration work.

What we’re looking for:

Must-haves

• React + TypeScript experience (modern hooks-based React)
• Comfortable owning features with guidance
• Willing to touch backend (.NET/C#) when required
• Curious generalist mindset
• Able to collaborate and communicate clearly
• Takes responsibility beyond just writing code

Nice to have

• Ads / monetisation / integrations experience
• SSR frameworks (Marko.js, Next.js, Remix)
• Tailwind or design system experience

Culture fit

• Low-ego and collaborative
• Happy working in a pragmatic environment (not process-heavy)
• Uses AI tools sensibly (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.)

Technical environment

Frontend: React, TypeScript, Marko.js, Tailwind

Backend: .NET 8+, C#, PostgreSQL

Tooling: GitHub Actions, Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Gemini Pro

• 5–6 engineers per pod (PM + designer)
• Strong senior mentorship
