Systems Engineer

TAAC Aviation Technologies was established as a joint venture between Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) and ALTINAY Defense Technologies, with the mission of developing critical Flight Control Systems, Landing Gear Systems, and Test Systems in compliance with aviation standards through indigenous capabilities.

TAAC initiated its engineering activities in 2019 with the signing of the HÜRJET Iron Bird Development Project. Since then, the company has progressed significantly and is currently executing various critical projects for multiple domestic and international stakeholders, primarily for major platforms such as the National Combat Aircraft (MMU).

For our Ankara location, We are looking for a teammate to join us for the systems engineering activities of landing gear systems development projects.

General Responsibilities

• Performing system engineering activities for hydromechanical systems and/or landing gear systems
• Ensuring traceability between customer requirements and design solutions; deriving lower-level requirements when necessary and establishing traceability between requirements and validation/verification activities
• Defining the system architecture in line with functional, performance, and safety requirements, and technically justifying architectural decisions
• Acting as a technical interface between system engineering, safety engineering, and design teams (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical/electronic, etc.)
• Preparing and maintaining system design documentation (e.g., System Description Document, Interface Control Document, etc.)
• Conducting technical meetings with customers and responding to technical inquiries
• Preparing test procedures in compliance with applicable aerospace standards
• Ensuring that tests are executed in accordance with approved procedures by working closely with test teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of science in mechanical engineering, aerospace/aeronautical engineering, mechatronic engineering or related departments of the engineering disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in design or system engineering within the aerospace, defense, or automotive industries
• Knowledge and experience in electro-hydromechanical systems and/or landing gear systems
• Experience in requirements management, system architecture, and design traceability
• Hands-on experience with CATIA or similar CAD tools
• Hands-on experience with DOORS or similar requirements management tools
• Hands-on experience with environmental qualification standards (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, DO-160)
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic qualification standards (SAE AS5440, SAE AS8875, MIL-PRF-5503 etc.)
• Experience in preparing test procedures and actively participating in test activities
• Good command of technical English (for documentation and technical meetings)
• Strong capability in technical documentation preparation
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly across different engineering disciplines
• Ability to interface with customers at a technical level

Preferred Qualifications

• Project experience specifically related to landing gear systems
• Knowledge of landing gear standards (SAE AS6053, SAE ARP1493, SAE ARP5381, SAE ARP1595 etc.)
• Experience in system safety activities according to SAE ARP4761
• No military service obligation for male candidates.
