DevOps Engineer

Role overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps / Kubernetes Engineer to help deploy, operate, and maintain a scalable and secure Kubernetes-as-a-Service platform. The role focuses on hosted control planes (Gardener) and strong Linux operations.

Requirements

• 7+ years of DevOps experience
• Strong hands-on knowledge of:
• Kubernetes
• Gardener (hosted control planes)
• ArgoCD (GitOps)
• Prometheus & Grafana
• Linux

Location & eligibility

• Client location: Walldorf, Germany
• Work model: remote, with onboarding onsite in Germany as a plus
• Candidates must be able to stay and work legally in Germany

Languages

• English is sufficient
• German is a plus (from B2)

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Kubernetes clusters using Gardener on OpenStack-based infrastructure
• Automate provisioning, scaling, and upgrades using GitOps tooling (e.g., ArgoCD)
• Ensure reliability, availability, and performance via monitoring, alerting, and proactive capacity management
• Implement observability solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
• Collaborate with developers and platform teams to enable automated application delivery
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, cluster, and networking issues
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement

Rate

• Max rate: 450 EUR/day
