About this role
As a Web Developer, you will build, customise, and maintain high-performance websites across Reconomy and its specialist brands. Our primary platform is WordPress, and you will work across both front-end and back-end systems to deliver secure, scalable, and optimised digital experiences.
You will collaborate closely with UX Designers, the Digital Product Owner, marketing teams, and key stakeholders to turn creative concepts into responsive, accessible, and maintainable web solutions. You will also play a key role in ensuring performance, security, SEO, and accessibility standards are consistently met.

- Recycle loop is utilising the latest technology and data to enable customers to make the best possible use of their materials.
- Comply loop is enabling customers to solve increasingly complex environmental regulatory challenges using data, expert knowledge and thought leadership to drive business accountability across the globe.
- Re-use loop is providing intelligent technology platforms and agile delivery models for pre-retail logistics and product returns, fulfilment and processing, on behalf of many of Europe’s largest retailers.
About this role

What We Need From You
What you’ll do
- Build, customise, and maintain WordPress websites across multiple brands
- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented front-end and back-end code
- Develop new features and continuously improve existing sites
- Perform regular site maintenance (updates, backups, troubleshooting)
- Integrate third-party tools and APIs
- Migrate legacy and newly acquired websites into the existing architecture
- Collaborate with UX Designers to deliver responsive and accessible (WCAG 2.1 AA) experiences
- Optimise performance, security, and technical SEO (page speed, schema, crawlability)
- Ensure high standards of website security and data protection
- Participate in code reviews, mentor other developers, and share best practices
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer, with strong WordPress expertise
- Solid knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript (React / Next.js, TypeScript, jQuery)
- Experience with version control tools (e.g. GitHub)
- Strong understanding of responsive design, performance optimisation, and accessibility
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and take ownership end-to-end
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to quality
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Familiarity with workflow tools (e.g. Jira)
- Experience using AI coding tools
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- Strong WordPress full-stack expertise with modern front-end technologies
- Proven ability to deliver secure, high-performance, and accessible websites
- Excellent collaboration skills and ownership mindset across cross-functional teams
