Technical Project Manager - Leading Strategy for Life Science Instrumentation

CT19 are supporting a long term client with the recruitment of a Product Manager/Application Lead to drive the real-world deployment of their breakthrough real-time microbiological detection system, across multiple industrial use cases. This is a leadership position with high-visibility, working in close partnership with the Chief Technology Officer, combining strategic ownership with hands-on scientific execution.

The Role

The Application Lead will define and execute the application strategy for their technology, ensuring strong alignment between technical feasibility and market needs. A major focus will be on the pharmaceutical sector, where significant groundwork remains to be built and where this role will help shape industry standards.

This position is both entrepreneurial and operational: you will influence long-term direction while staying deeply embedded in the lab and product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the overall application strategy across industrial use cases
• Identify and prioritize high-impact use cases based on technical maturity and market demand
• Build application frameworks, particularly within pharmaceutical QC environments
• Work closely with R&D teams to validate, adapt, and accelerate technology development
• Recruit, mentor, and lead scientific application teams
• Drive the patent and IP strategy in collaboration with leadership to secure long-term advantage
• Operate transversally across microbiology, machine learning, and software teams to ensure seamless execution

Profile

• Strong experience translating complex technologies into industrial or regulated environments (pharma experience highly valued)
• Proven ability to balance strategy with hands-on execution
• Comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing across functions
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build, scale, and shape new applications from the ground up
