Cyber Security Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cyber Security Analyst to protect our organization’s systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. The ideal candidate will monitor security events, investigate incidents, assess vulnerabilities, and help strengthen our overall security posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and other security tools
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware, phishing, and intrusions
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist with penetration testing efforts
• Analyze logs, network traffic, and system behavior to identify threats
• Support incident response, containment, eradication, and recovery activities
• Implement and maintain security controls, policies, and procedures
• Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies
• Assist with compliance efforts (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, PCI-DSS, etc.)
• Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques
• Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and other teams to improve security awareness and controls
• Prepare security reports, dashboards, and documentation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar)
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs)
• Knowledge of common attack vectors, threat actors, and MITRE ATT&CK
• Experience with incident response and log analysis
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and cloud environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Security certifications (Security+, CEH, CySA+, SSCP, CISSP)
• Experience with EDR/XDR tools
• Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
• Experience in regulated environments
