Sweden · Full-time · Not Applicable

WeQuel is supporting one of our key clients, AstraZeneca, in the search for an experienced Scientist In Vitro Immunology (Consultant) to join the Bioscience Immunology team within Research and Early Development, Respiratory & Immunology.

This consultant assignment is based in a highly scientific, hands-on research environment, with a focus on in vitro and ex vivo studies using mouse models to advance the understanding of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

About The Assignment

In this role, you will work closely with committed scientists in cross-functional drug discovery teams, contributing experimental data, scientific interpretation, and high-quality documentation. The assignment is ideal for someone with strong flow cytometry expertise, solid molecular biology skills, and confidence in scientific communication.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and execute in vitro and ex vivo experiments using mouse-derived cells to support immunology drug discovery projects
  • Perform and analyze flow cytometry (FACS) experiments, including tissue processing, staining, antibody panel design, and data analysis
  • Independently execute and interpret protein and RNA-based assays (e.g. ELISA, Western blot, MSD, RNA extraction, qRT-PCR)
  • Contribute scientifically through data interpretation, study design discussions, and presentation of results and recommendations
  • Ensure high standards of data integrity, quality control, documentation, and archiving
  • Communicate results clearly through written reports and presentations in team and project meetings

Your background

You bring strong scientific depth within immunology and are comfortable taking ownership of experimental work from planning to data interpretation. You thrive in a collaborative research setting and value scientific rigor and transparency.

Typical experience includes:

  • Master’s degree in biology or a related life science discipline
  • Extensive hands-on experience with flow cytometry on mouse samples, including routine FACS analysis and FlowJo data processing
  • Practical expertise in cellular and molecular biology techniques
  • Strong understanding of statistics, data quality, and reporting
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with confidence presenting scientific data

Experience within autoimmune disease research, in vivo models, or advanced cell isolation/sorting techniques is considered a strong advantage.
