Chief Technology Officer - Proptech

A profitable, founder led Proptech SaaS business with over a decade of product maturity is creating a CTO to bring leadership and take the business forward into the era of AI

This is a leadership role with genuine influence. You will set technology strategy, lead a distributed engineering and product function, and still stay close enough to the code to make strong technical decisions. This business is looking to ensure they adopt new AI tools to stay ahead of their competitors .

The business is preparing for international expansion starting with the UK, followed by the US and Canada. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the platform, data, privacy and execution standards are built for global scale.

What you’ll be doing

• Owning technology strategy and execution at an executive and board level

• Leading a multidisciplinary team including engineering, product and UX

• Managing a Tech Lead with a team of developers across Australia & overseas

• Balancing strategic leadership with hands on technical contribution

• Setting technical direction, standards and architectural decisions

• Participating in hands on coding, code reviews and technical design discussions

• Partnering closely with founders and leadership on prioritisation and roadmap planning

• Preparing the platform for international expansion, starting with the UK

• Ensuring best practice around privacy, data storage, security and AI readiness

• Driving execution discipline across projects, delivery and outcomes

• Providing clear board level reporting on technology, risk and progress

What you’ll bring

• Previous experience in a senior technology leadership role within SaaS

• Background in software development with the ability to stay technically hands on

• Experience leading and scaling distributed engineering teams

• Strong understanding of global expansion challenges including privacy and data considerations

• Have an interest in AI tools and expereince in bringing in new technology

• Ability to operate at both board and delivery level

• Clear communication style with strong stakeholder influence

• Pragmatic approach to execution and prioritisation

• Comfortable working in a high accountability, in office leadership role
