Summary

The Ash Group is hiring a Network Engineer for a major Colorado municipal government providing essential public services, including public safety and community development. This is a Direct Hire position based in Aurora, CO, with a Hybrid work setting and an annual salary of $93,000.


This role is a vital part of the Networking Team, responsible for designing, maintaining, and supporting the LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructure that keeps city services running.


Role Details

  • Compensation: $93,000 salary.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Network Design & Support: Design, maintain, and support Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and Wireless (WLAN) for both voice and data applications.
  • Security Integration: Implement and monitor Information Security standards specific to the network infrastructure, including firewall and VPN management.
  • Hardware/Software Lifecycle: Install and configure network equipment to resolve hardware issues or deploy software updates and patches.
  • AI-Driven Management: Utilize modern NAC solutions like Juniper Mist Access Assurance to automate client onboarding and provide secure, policy-based access.
  • Strategic Roadmapping: Create technology roadmaps and assist in solution rationalization to ensure the network evolves with city needs.
  • Support: Participate in an on-call rotation for staff escalation support outside of normal business hours.


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: At least 2 years of Network Administrator experience. (A combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • Strong knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco/Juniper networking equipment.
  • Proficiency in Juniper SDWAN and wireless networking.
  • Solid understanding of MPLS, BGP, VLAN, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Network OS and VOIP.
  • Preferred Certifications: CCNA/JNCIA, CCNP/JNCIP, PCNSE (Palo Alto Certified Network Security Engineer), or ITIL Foundations.
  • Residency: Candidates must be residents of the State of Colorado.
