Senior WAF Engineer

Client Introduction

In this role, you will collaborate closely with one of our esteemed clients—a global leader in their industry, recognized for their commitment to quality, innovation, and excellence. They have partnered with Dautom as their trusted IT consulting provider for upcoming strategic initiatives.

The Senior WAF Engineer is responsible for architecting, deploying, operating, and continuously optimizing Web Application Firewall (WAF) and API protection solutions across hybrid environment, including on-premise data centers, sovereign private cloud, and public cloud platforms.

• 7–12 years of experience in application or network security roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with WAF and WAAP platforms.
• Proven experience securing:
• Internet-facing web applications
• APIs and microservices
• High-traffic, mission-critical platforms
• Experience in hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud).

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Deep understanding of:
• HTTP/S, TLS, REST APIs, JSON, XML
• OWASP Top 10 & API Top 10
• Attack patterns (XSS, SQLi, CSRF, RCE, SSRF, etc.)
• Strong log analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with:
• Kubernetes/OpenShift ingress
• Load balancers and reverse proxies
• API gateways
• Scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, REST APIs) are a plus.
