Network Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support day-to-day Layer 2 network operations and participate in network deployment and enhancement projects. This role focuses on enterprise network stability, performance, and operational excellence in a production-critical environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure reliable network operations while supporting infrastructure improvements and project rollouts.

Candidates with hands-on Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) experience will be considered for a Senior Network Engineer position, based on overall experience and scope of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Network Operations Support

• Provide Layer 2 network operations support including incident investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution across LAN, WAN, and security infrastructure
• Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity to ensure SLA compliance
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes in accordance with operational standards

Project Deployment and Implementation

• Participate in network deployment, upgrade, and enhancement projects
• Execute network configuration, testing, and migration activities for new and existing environments
• Support technology refresh, expansion, and infrastructure improvement initiatives
• Work with vendors and project teams to deliver network solutions within agreed timelines

Technology and Platform Support

• Configure, support, and troubleshoot Cisco switches and firewalls
• Support Huawei switches in enterprise environments
• Manage and maintain Fortigate firewalls including policy configuration and troubleshooting
• Support Infoblox for DNS, DHCP, and IP address management
• Support F5 load balancers including basic configuration, monitoring, and issue resolution

Documentation and Governance

• Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
• Support audits, compliance checks, and operational reviews
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for network operations and service delivery

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 4 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Layer 2 network operations support
• Proven experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure
• Experience in both BAU operations and project-based network implementation

Senior Network Engineer Consideration

• Candidates with hands-on Cisco ACI support, deployment, or migration experience will be considered for a Senior Network Engineer role
• Senior consideration applies to individuals who have demonstrated ownership of ACI environments within enterprise or data center settings

Technical Skills

Core Network Engineer Skills

• Cisco switches and firewalls
• Huawei switches
• Fortigate firewalls
• Infoblox DNS, DHCP, and IPAM
• F5 load balancers
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and network security principles

Senior Network Engineer Additional Skills

• Hands-on Cisco ACI experience including APIC, spine, and leaf architecture
• Understanding of policy-driven and software-defined networking concepts
• Exposure to migration from traditional network architectures to ACI environments

Professional and Soft Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Clear communication skills for engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, operations-driven environments

Certifications Nice to Have

• CCNA or CCNP
• Cisco ACI or Data Center related certifications
• Fortinet NSE certification
• Huawei network certifications

Preferred Profile

• Experience supporting large-scale or mission-critical enterprise environments
• Exposure to regulated or SLA-driven operational models
• Willingness to support after-hours maintenance or standby rotations when required
