Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Job Title: (Lead) AI Engineer

Location: Hybrid/Brussels - onsite 1 day/week

Contract Type: 6 month Contract + extensions

Hourly Rate: circa 500-600 EUR/day - flex for great candidates

Start Date: Mid Feb

Orbis have partnered with a Belgium-based startup that builds a software platform to help companies manage employee mobility and commuting benefits (such as public transport, mobility budgets, and reimbursements).

They are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to help steer the technical direction of their AI projects specifically around conversational AI systems & RAG architecture.

Technical requirements:

• Strong Python proficiency, specifically around building backend APIs in AI/ML software engineering
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered RAG systems, including embeddings, retrieval, and generation
• Practical experience with vector databases / semantic search (e.g. Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma)
• Experience deploying and operating AI services on AWS (e.g. scalable APIs, cloud-based LLM integrations)
