Your Role

As a Scrum Master, you will lead Agile projects, making sure the team understands and uses Scrum principles to achieve the best results. You will support productivity, teamwork, and self-organization. Additionally, you will coach the team, stakeholders, and business lines, encouraging good collaboration and improving practices that slow progress.

Key Responsibilities

Project Follow-up

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives) and other key meetings.
  • Schedule and track the critical steps of the Agile methodology to ensure adherence to the framework.
  • Guarantee smooth execution of Scrum methodology and guide the Project Team in overcoming challenges.
  • Provide assistance and support to the Product Owner for managing the Product Backlog effectively.
  • Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams or departments
  • Assist the team in delivering key artifacts, such as the Definition of Done (DoD), Sprint Backlog, and Increment.
  • Track team capacity and velocity metrics to optimize planning and monitor progress.

Project Methodology and Coaching

  • Coach and challenge the Project Team to embrace Agile values and principles.
  • Guide the team to self-organize and overcome difficulties, removing barriers to their effectiveness.
  • Act as a Scrum ambassador within the company, promoting Agile best practices and principles.
  • Protect the team from unnecessary distractions, fostering an environment focused on delivering results.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on the deployment and effectiveness of the Scrum methodology.
  • Support stakeholders and business lines, clarifying helpful interactions with the Scrum Team and minimizing unproductive involvement.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks and issues impacting the project or team performance.
  • Proactively address team conflicts and ensure alignment with project goals.

Your Profile

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as scrum master, preferably more than 7 years.

Mandatory Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira for reporting and follow-up.
  • Understanding of automated unit testing, functional testing, and continuous integration tools.
  • Strong knowledge of software development and project management methodologies.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with IT processes and their integration into Agile workflows.

Business Experience

  • Expert knowledge of Agile methodologies and techniques, including Scrum and Kanban.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and facilitate discussions across diverse teams.
  • Strong leadership skills, motivating and supporting teams to reach their goals while encouraging self-organization.
  • Experience in resolving conflicts and handling challenges positively.

Certifications: Scrum Master certification (e.g., CSM, PSM) is mandatory

Education: Master’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering or Economics.

Languages: Fluency in English, and Dutch or French, with at least passive knowledge of the other.
