Senior Java Backend Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Work as part of a development team to maintain and enhance Onegate, a secure online reporting application.
• Develop back-end application components that handle the secure batch processing of large data volumes (e.g., XML).
• Collaborate with senior developers and technical leads to design key components of the application.
• Provide technical coaching to co-workers, helping to build team capability and share best practices.
• Ensure that all deliverables, including well-documented code and technical documentation, meet project guidelines.
  
  
  

Technical Skills & Experience Required:

• Java & Hibernate: Advanced proficiency in Java and Hibernate, with hands-on experience developing robust back-end applications.
• Spring Framework: Expertise in Spring, including Spring Security and Spring Batch, is critical.
• JAX-WS / JAX-RS: Advanced knowledge in web services (SOAP and RESTful APIs).
• Security Expertise: Strong understanding of OWASP standards and security best practices.
• Database Management: Experience with Oracle Database and a solid understanding of data handling processes.
• Development Tools: Proficient with tools like IntelliJ, GIT/SVN, Maven, Bamboo, and Sonar.
• Web Frontend Development: Intermediate skills in front-end technologies (JSF, PrimeFaces, Spring WebFlow, Angular).
• Experience in Agile: At least 4 years of experience working in Scrum/Kanban environments.
• Mentoring Experience: Proven ability to coach and guide junior developers.
  
  
  

Additional Details:

• Location: Hybrid working model with a requirement to be onsite in Brussels for at least 50% of the time.
• Languages: Proficiency in Dutch or French with professional working proficiency in English.
• Experience in Financial Sector: At least 5 years of experience in financial or banking sectors is preferred.
