Accountant

Job Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial insights to support business decisions. The role involves preparing reports, analysing accounting data, and maintaining records of assets, liabilities, profits, losses, and tax obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records and financial statements.
• Record all financial transactions accurately and maintain proper account classifications.
• Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets; prepare reports comparing budgeted vs. actual costs.
• Analyse business operations, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and trends to provide actionable insights.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports, in line with GAAP/IFRS and internal policies.
• Develop, implement, and document accounting and recordkeeping systems, utilizing current technologies for real-time reporting.
• Support ERP systems (preferably SAP) for efficient financial management.
• Ensure financial data and analysis reflect the true performance of the business.
• Provide support for consolidation and month-end closing processes.
• Participate in HSE initiatives, safety awareness, and incident reporting as per company policies.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS basics.
• Experience with general ledger (GL) accounting and month-end closing.
• Understanding of financial markets, banking, and financial analysis.
• Experience in financial management, reporting, budgeting, and consolidation support.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP, and strong Excel skills.
• Ability to analyse complex financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
• Exposure to SPVs and Holdco structures is preferred.

Experience:

• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• GCC experience is an advantage.

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• ACCA-part qualified or CMA is a plus.
• Professional certification such as CPA is an advantage.
