Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, safety-critical embedded software on bare-metal or RTOS-based systems
• Own the design and implementation of sensor interfaces and motor/actuator drivers
• Design, implement, and verify software in compliance with DO-178C objectives, including requirements traceability and verification (as applicable to system criticality level)
• Perform hands-on hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, and low-level performance optimization
• Execute bench testing and PCB-in-the-loop testing to verify software correctness and robustness
• Make informed performance, memory, and timing trade-offs to meet product requirements
• Design clean, reusable abstractions to support multiple platforms and product variants
• Define and review sensor, actuator, and computational performance requirements at system level
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers throughout the development lifecycle

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability
• Strong proficiency in C for embedded systems
• Solid understanding of RTOS concepts (tasking, synchronization, timing, memory)
• Hands-on experience with microcontroller peripherals such as ADCs, CAN, GPIOs, PWM, and SPI
• Experience working with electrical schematics and understanding circuit behaviour
• Experience working with sensors, signal conditioning, and digital signal processing
• Familiarity with MISRA-C; experience with C++ and Python is a plus
• Experience working with PID controllers and other control loops is a plus
• Knowledge of test automation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), or CI/CD pipelines is a plus
