Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Associate Front-End Developer to join our team in a full-time, fully remote role. This position is ideal for a developer with foundational front-end experience who is ready to take the next step, contribute to production-level work, and continue developing technical expertise in a collaborative environment.

As an Associate Front-End Developer, you will work closely with senior developers, designers, and product teams to build, enhance, and maintain user-facing features across Loyal To Cumbria’s platform. You will play an important role in translating designs into functional interfaces and supporting ongoing improvements to usability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Front-End Development & Implementation

  • Develop and maintain responsive, user-friendly front-end interfaces
  • Implement designs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in line with best practices
  • Contribute to building and maintaining reusable UI components

Collaboration & Team Integration

  • Work closely with designers to translate UI/UX designs into functional web pages
  • Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate APIs and dynamic data
  • Participate in code reviews and development discussions

Testing, Debugging & Optimization

  • Test front-end features across browsers and devices
  • Identify and resolve UI bugs, styling issues, and layout inconsistencies
  • Support performance, accessibility, and usability improvements

Continuous Learning & Improvement

  • Stay up to date with front-end technologies, frameworks, and best practices
  • Apply feedback to improve code quality and development efficiency
  • Continuously develop skills in responsive design and accessibility standards

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in a remote environment
  • Motivation to grow and develop as a front-end developer
  • Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Desirable Skills (Nice To Have)

  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, or similar
  • Familiarity with CSS frameworks or preprocessors (e.g., Tailwind, Bootstrap, Sass)
  • Basic understanding of UI/UX principles
  • Personal or professional projects demonstrating front-end skills
