Summary:

The Chief Business Development Officer will play a pivotal role in the overall growth, and strategic direction of the Company's portfolio of clients. This role will drive growth by developing and implementing strategies that herald and market the Company and its services to expand the client base and ensure Company revenue and profit goals are met. While the Chief Business Development Officer will also cultivate existing relationships, new client origination is key. This role will be the tip of the spear networking with new Client prospects, Funds, Consultants and Fund Counsel to generate new sales.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements sales and client service strategies and programs that create demand, generate revenue, and help the organization meet profitability goals.
  • Sells to potential customers through effectively communicating the Company's value proposition and market differentiation and assesses current and potential markets and develops targeted positioning, branding, messaging.
  • Develop and apply breakthrough customer insight, as well as exceptional thinking, communication and influence skills, leadership, and energy to help drive customer business goals
  • Establishes sales, retention and product offerings/sales goals; tracks performance against expectations and modifies strategies in response.
  • Continuously improves processes to adapt to market evolution, client trends, and company growth.
  • Assist in the development, management, and tracking of sale incentive compensation and client services incentive compensation plans.
  • Leads and oversees sales operations and client services team ensuring established revenue/profit goals are met and excellent customer service is achieved.
  • Collaborates with executive team to align departmental strategy with overall goals of the organization.
  • Coaches and directs the work of Sales and Client Services teams. Develops staff through performance management, goal setting, training, and effective employee relations.
  • Develops and cultivates relationships with clients promoting the superior benefits of services and products.
  • Report progress to the CEO during monthly forecast meetings as well as to the Board of Directors during quarterly meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or Management.
  • Fifteen years of experience in client account management, including eight years in roles at the executive level.
  • Understanding of third-party administration. Taft Hartley experience a plus.
  • Proven success in client facing sales and negotiations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of group presentations
  • Persuasive communication skills and proven track record of closing deals
  • Ability to foster teamwork and to build collaborative relationships.
  • Innovation and problem-solving skills that include the ability to develop customized solutions for prospective clients
  • Ability to drive strategic direction and develop scalable action plans.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office tools and applications
