Java Consultant

We’re looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer (Java + Angular) to support a major organisation in the telecommunications industry in Belgium.

Logistics

• Position: Freelance Full-Stack Developer – Java & Angular
• Duration: 12-month contract (with potential extension)
• Day Rate: €(Competitive & Negotiable)
• Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)
• Start Date: ASAP / Flexible

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java (backend) and Angular (frontend).
• Work closely with product owners, solution architects, and engineering teams to refine requirements and deliver robust, production-ready features.
• Build modular, secure, and scalable APIs and backend services to support high-traffic telecommunications systems.
• Develop intuitive, performant, and responsive frontend interfaces that enhance both customer and operational user experiences.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and support a DevOps-driven, continuous-delivery environment.
• Ensure code quality and reliability through rigorous testing, reviews, and best-practice engineering standards.
• Participate in architectural discussions and help drive technical decision-making across both ongoing enhancements and new greenfield projects.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong professional experience as a Full-Stack Developer with Java (Spring preferred) and Angular (latest versions a plus).
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices: CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, microservices, and cloud-oriented architectures.
• Experience working in complex, enterprise-scale environments—telecommunications experience is highly valued.
• Ability to translate business and functional needs into clean, maintainable, and performant technical solutions.
• Comfortable working within Agile teams and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, ownership mentality, and an ability to thrive in fast-moving environments.
• Fluent in English; French or Dutch is an advantage.
