Job Description
As an applications engineer you will become an expert in PIC / AVR / ARM architectures and their design, and applications. You will support and train Microchip’s customers, develop embedded software, design hardware, write application notes, develop documentation for new products, and help launch new microcontroller products to market. You will collaborate daily with colleagues in Asia, Europe, and USA.

Job Description
As an applications engineer you will become an expert in PIC / AVR / ARM architectures and their design, and applications. You will support and train Microchip’s customers, develop embedded software, design hardware, write application notes, develop documentation for new products, and help launch new microcontroller products to market. You will collaborate daily with colleagues in Asia, Europe, and USA.
In Your Role You Will
- Be involved in the full development cycle of new microcontroller products, from the architecture phase to mass production
- Write application notes that describe concepts and usage of Microchip’s technology into end user applications
- Develop key deliverables like the data sheet and other documentation for new products. Develop embedded software and hardware that demonstrates Microchip products functionality, performance, competitive advantage, and ease of use
- Support customers by solving their problems
- Develop training material and provide classroom lectures for other Microchip employees or customers.
- Contribute to define features and specifications for Microchip next generation of devices
- Apply your understanding of the microcontroller internals and write datasheet macro chapters, explain the usage through embedded software examples and technical documentation. Contribute to develop internal systems and solutions that support our work towards making it easy for our customers
- Develop SW stacks that support the complete product solution
- Review work done by your colleagues
Preferred skills (one or several of):
- Knowledge of electronic design
- Good problem-solving skills
- Experience in embedded programming and use of microcontrollers
- Hands on with assembly or C/C++
- Experience with the Python scripting language
- Good cooperative and analytical skills
- B.Sc., M.Sc. in either
- Electronics (Analog or Digital design)
- Cybernetics
- Computer Science
- Or other technical studies
- English – both written and oral
Preferred 0-3 years relevant experience as:
- SW programmer
- Electronics engineering
- Apps engineering
- IC design engineering
- Or similar
