About the Opportunity
Hatchit Studios is seeking an experienced Interaction Designer to support a major national digital initiative focused on delivering an intuitive and data-driven workforce analytics dashboard. The role will shape how complex datasets are visualised, ensuring insights are communicated clearly, accurately, and effectively to diverse stakeholders.
Working within a multidisciplinary digital team, the Interaction Designer will take a lead role in designing user-centred interfaces, building prototypes, and applying modern UX/UI practices to deliver a high-quality data visualisation product.
Key Responsibilities
- Design intuitive user interfaces and interactions that meet stakeholder and audience needs.
- Maintain and apply an up-to-date UI Kit across all digital products.
- Develop an interactive dashboard prototype showcasing key workforce indicators.
- Conduct user testing, gather feedback, and refine designs through iterative improvements.
- Produce technical documentation including data flow diagrams, SOPs, design notes, and update processes.
- Work closely with analysis and digital teams to ensure alignment with data insights and project objectives.
- Support knowledge-transfer activities, including handover sessions and planning future enhancements.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong experience applying data insights to inform design decisions and improve user engagement.
- Experience working in regulated or government environments, with sound knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design standards.
- Proficiency in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and collaborative design workflows.
- Experience working with complex datasets and translating them into clear visual representations.
- High attention to detail and ability to follow briefs, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of the VET or Higher Education landscape (desirable).
- Strong communication and stakeholder-engagement capabilities.
