Project Manager

Apata is an emerging fintech reshaping fraud prevention for card issuers with next-generation, flexible solutions. Since our successful launch in June 2022, we’ve grown rapidly—our technology now powers secure e-commerce authentication for 100+ financial institutions worldwide, protecting millions of cardholders every day.

As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a Project Manager to drive the planning and delivery of software projects primarily, ensuring teams deliver what’s agreed within the timeframe.

The role:

• Drive the planning and delivery of software projects primarily, ensuring teams deliver what’s agreed within the timeframe.
• Facilitate estimation and planning sessions with the engineering team to ensure work is well-defined and commitments are realistic.
• Proactively identify dependencies, risks, and blockers and ensure they’re resolved quickly.
• Maintain visibility on progress through well-structured tracking and communication.
• Run retrospectives and other regular team check-ins to identify and implement process improvements.
• Work closely with the Product team to balance priorities, clarify requirements, and manage scope changes.
• Ensure the engineering team has everything they need - resources, context, and decisions to move efficiently.
• Encourage a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Keep delivery predictable and transparent across all stakeholders.
• Planning & delivery of other ad hoc projects across the company as required from time to time.

Ideal candidate:

• 4+ years of experience managing software projects or technical teams.
• Solid understanding of software development processes, CI/CD and release cycles.
• Strong organisational and communication skills - concise, assertive, and clear.
• Experience working directly with a range of functions, particularly engineering and product teams. Familiarity with agile methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with project tracking tools like Jira, Trello, or similar.
• A mindset focused on outcomes, not rituals.
