Software Engineer

Salt is currently hiring a Software Engineer for a client of ours in Den Haag.

We’re looking for a hands-on Software Engineer / Developer (contract) to deliver a Shopify integration and a TypeScript-based PERN platform (PostgreSQL, Express/Node.js, React/Next.js).

You’ll take ownership of both architecture and implementation, building reliable integrations, robust data flows, and high-quality, production-ready features. Working closely with product and engineering stakeholders, you’ll help bring this project from concept to delivery on an ambitious timeline.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and deliver a Shopify-connected PERN platform from end to end.

• Implement Shopify Admin and Storefront API integrations, including webhooks, OAuth, and data synchronization.

• Design and manage PostgreSQL data models and APIs in Express/Node.js.

• Build React/Next.js front-end components and ensure smooth, modern UI performance.

• Establish CI/CD pipelines, automate testing, and ensure deployment readiness.

• Maintain high standards of code quality, documentation, and reliability.

What You Bring

• Strong experience in TypeScript, Node.js (Express), and React/Next.js.

• Solid hands-on background with Shopify app development (Admin & Storefront APIs, OAuth, webhooks).

• Proven ability to design scalable PostgreSQL schemas and optimize data flow.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, and cloud deployment practices.

• Pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset — you ship clean, maintainable code fast.

• Location: Hybrid : office / Remote - some days onsite in Den Haag area
