You will:

• Build and maintain large-scale, distributed backend systems.
• Design, manage, and optimize Big Data platforms using Spark, BigTable/SingleStore.
• Leverage cloud-based platforms such as GCP DataProc, CloudFunction, AWS DataSync, S3, and Lambda for development and deployment.
• Contribute significantly to the design and implementation of architecturally critical components in end-to-end large-scale projects.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to gather requirements and create sustainable technical solutions.
• Play a hands-on role in delivering team projects involving distributed systems at scale.
• Communicate effectively around technical and product concepts.
• Continuously ask why and seek better ways to do things.

Your team will:

As a Senior Backend Engineer (Big Data), this individual will design, build, and optimize large-scale, distributed backend systems and big data ecosystems. The role will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet specific and measurable business requirements.

About you:

• 8+ years of experience writing and deploying high-quality production code.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and GoLang.
• Experience with Spark, GCP DataProc, CloudFunction, and DataFlow.
• Familiarity with AWS DataSync, S3, and Lambda.
• Expertise in BigTable & SingleStore.
• 4+ years managing and optimizing Big Data ecosystems (Spark, BigTable/SingleStore).
• Delivered at least one end-to-end large-scale project as a hands-on engineer.
• Demonstrated ability to build technical solutions that meet specific business needs.
• Significant contributions to distributed systems projects at scale.
• Excellent communicator and problem solver.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with TypeScript (Node.js).
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (Docker, Terraform, Jenkins, Spinnaker).
• Hands-on experience with Google Kubernetes Engine.
• Experience with AWS Fargate.
• Proficiency selecting and using industry-standard open source/commercial tools or libraries.
