Cyber Security Specialist

Job Summary:

• A Cybersecurity Specialist protects an organization’s computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.
• This role involves monitoring systems for vulnerabilities, investigating security incidents, implementing protective measures, and ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor networks and systems for security breaches or unusual activity
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
• Implement and maintain firewalls, antivirus, and security tools
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures
• Respond to and investigate security incidents and breaches
• Conduct risk analysis and suggest improvements to enhance security posture
• Stay up to date with emerging cyber threats and technologies
• Collaborate with IT and management teams to ensure data protection and compliance

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• Knowledge of network security, operating systems, and encryption
• Familiarity with tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or CISM (preferred)
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and incident response skills
