I’m partnered with a global firm who are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to take the lead on building intelligent, internal Gen AI products. We're looking for experience in automation for workflow improvement, as well as Machine Learning solutions which address varying challenges across the business, concerning critical infrastructure services.

The ideal candidate will drive the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered automation solutions, as well as helping shape the strategic roadmap for how automation can deliver growth, efficiency, and reliability for their clients.

Senior AI Engineer Responsibilities

• Partner with teams across engineering, data, and operations to architect and deliver scalable, resilient, and forward-thinking automation solutions powered by AI — such as intelligent diagnostics, predictive analytics, and autonomous operational tools.
• Take ownership of solution delivery within an Agile/Scrum setup, shaping user stories, defining acceptance standards, maintaining the product backlog, and setting clear priorities for upcoming releases.
• Research, adapt, and implement LLMs, ensuring they are tuned and integrated effectively into production systems.
• Design and maintain key modules of automation frameworks, incorporating scripting and orchestration tools (e.g. Python, PowerShell) as well as continuous deployment and pipeline automation components.
• Build, validate, and deploy machine learning solutions for use cases such as anomaly detection, performance forecasting, and capacity optimisation, managing the full ML workflow from data preparation through model evaluation.
• Act as a trusted advisor in AI-driven operations (AIOps) and workflow automation.

Senior AI Engineer Requirements

• A minimum of four years’ experience within IT or technology services, with a focus on automation, orchestration, scripting, or applied AI/ML solutions.
• Skilled with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash, with the ability to build and maintain automation workflows efficiently.
• Strong grasp of IT infrastructure and networking fundamentals, including knowledge of common network architectures, services, and operational constraints.
• Practical experience working with large language models (LLMs), from fine-tuning and deployment to integrating both open-source and enterprise variants into production environments.
• Comfortable with machine learning and deep learning tools (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow) and familiar with containerized development using Docker and Kubernetes. Experience deploying on cloud ecosystems is preferable.
• Excellent communicator, able to translate complex technical ideas into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
