Senior Network Engineer (Cisco - Routing & Switching)

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with expertise in Cisco routing and switching to lead the redesign, deployment, and optimization of our network infrastructure. In this role, you will take ownership of automating network configurations, implementing standard practices, and validating deployments against industry best practices to ensure the robustness, scalability, and security of the network.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Redesign & Deployment:

• Oversee the complete redesign of the organization's network infrastructure to meet current and future business requirements.
• Lead the deployment of Cisco routing and switching solutions across all environments.
• Conduct comprehensive network assessments to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.

Automation & Standardization:

• Develop and implement automated solutions for network configuration and management.
• Create and enforce standardized configuration templates to ensure consistency and compliance across all network devices.
• Leverage network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python) to enhance operational efficiency.

Validation & Best Practices:

• Validate network designs and configurations to align with industry best practices and organizational standards.
• Perform rigorous testing of network solutions to ensure performance, reliability, and security.
• Maintain thorough documentation of network designs, configurations, and changes.

Troubleshooting & Optimization:

• Act as a senior-level escalation point for resolving complex network issues.
• Continuously monitor network performance and recommend optimizations to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Implement strategies to minimize downtime and enhance network resilience.

Collaboration & Leadership:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, IT operations, and applications teams, to align network solutions with business goals.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Stay up to date on emerging networking technologies and recommend innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Cisco certifications such as CCNP, CCIE (preferred), or equivalent experience.

Technical Skills:

• Expert knowledge of Cisco routing and switching (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, VLAN, STP).
• Hands-on experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python, Netmiko).
• Strong understanding of network security best practices (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, ACLs).
• Proficient in network design and documentation tools.

Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in network engineering, including Cisco technologies.
• Demonstrated expertise in network redesign and large-scale deployments.
• Proven track record of automating network tasks and improving operational workflows.

• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
