The Belgian, B-Corp certified company IBA has opened new ways to diagnose and fight cancer and is the global leader in the field of Proton Therapy, next to its activities in radiopharmaceuticals, industrial sterilization and dosimetry.

Your mission is to help our business teams with extracting insights from data through statistics and artificial intelligence. You'll use your experience to work closely with our data engineers, data scientists and business domain experts to ensure that your projects deliver tangible value and help build IBA a competitive advantage through data. More concretely, you will contribute to applications for predictive maintenance, as well as demonstrate feasibility in ambitious R&D projects.

We are looking for an experienced data professional who can drive a data project end-to-end. This includes deep diving in the business domain, exploring available data, suggesting improvements for data collection, as well as building, deploying, and monitoring AI models and visualizing the results.

How will your first months look like?

First, you’ll get onboarded on our data infrastructure and get a better understanding of the tools we are using. Next, you’ll be introduced on your first data science challenges.

What We Value

Must-have:

• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Solid foundation in all steps of CRISP-DM
• Strong foundation in statistics and AI, through education or experience
• Proven experience in delivering AI projects
• Motivation to understand our business and integrate our domain knowledge
• Strong communicator that can describe complex topics in a simple way
• Fluent in English, French is a plus
• Passionate about data

• Experience with time series and/or natural language projects
• Experience with Databricks and Spark
• Experience with predictive maintenance
• Experience working in an R&D environment
