About the team:

An opportunity to join ASX Digital team and play a key role in shaping the overall frontend strategy for the analysis, design and development of applications on digital platform.

In this role you will be an integral part of the Digital Engineering team. Specifically, you will be an expert on front-end development and will act as the principal engineer in the front-end engineering discipline.

The Digital Engineering team supports build and run functions across the ASX digital portfolio across all public and B2B digital properties. There a full backlog of work encompassing a wide variety of technologies across multiple initiatives and projects, ranging from the design and build out of a new design system and react component library for ASX, a full rebrand exercise across the portfolio. Should be across all front-end technical designs and drive the delivery of the front-end engineering deliverables.

What you will be doing:

• Take the lead in designing, developing and implementing UI components using React.js
• While primarily a front-end role, must be comfortable working across the full stack (Java)
• Contribute to detailed solution design and ensure designs are aligned with design system and architecture guardrails
• Drive and embed re-use principles when designing and developing components and libraries
• Wireframe design
• Staying up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies
• Troubleshooting and debugging issues to ensure smooth user experiences
• Participating in code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency
• Write well-designed and efficient code, ensuring coding standards are in place and are maintained
• Provide technical guidance and ensure the team follows best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidance.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and knowledge.
• Actively participate in architectural discussions and contribute to shape the overall frontend roadmap by making informed decisions considering scalability, accessibility, maintainability and performance.
• Contribute to the selection of the frontend technology by evaluating and recommending the most suitable frontend frameworks, libraries, and tools for the project.
• Constantly explore new tools, frameworks, and techniques to enhance the development process, streamline workflows, and improve productivity.
• Ensure our applications are secure and up-to-date
• Deploy and host the applications on Adobe Cloud

What you will bring:

Must have

• 5+ years’ experience as Senior UI Engineer or similar role
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and have a solid grasp of modern frontend libraries and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Proficiency in Node, React.js and its core principles
• Comfortable in a full stack environment and ability to contribute across the stack as required
• Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Redux)
• Experience with RESTful APIs and integration
• Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Tokens
• Understanding of front-end build tools and pipelines
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• A strong attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality code
• Adaptability to changing project requirements and priorities
• Experience with Cloud platforms (Adobe, AWS)
• Experience in deploying UI code and services through AWS serverless services
• Experience with DevOps deployments such as GITLAB
• Problem-solving abilities
• Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment
• Engage with inspiring designers and front-end engineers, and collaborate with leading backend engineers to create reliable experience APIs
• Excellent debugging, performance optimization, coding standards and architectural guidance skills
• Experience in unit/integration and nonfunctional testing

Nice to have:

• Experience on working with component libraries such as Material UI, Chakra UI or Ant Design
• Experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud and Lightning Design System
• Adobe/AWS/GCP cloud based implementations
• Kubernetes Cluster Containerized based React applications
• Experience logging & Monitoring tools like Open Telemetry & Cloud Observability – Lightstep
• Serverless applications like Lambda with React and Node JS
