Senior IBM Infrastructure Engineer

Compensation: €5 - €5,500 / month

Description

The IBM Cloud / Infrastructure as Code (IAC) Engineer combines software development and continuous integration practices of new software solutions within a large-scale enterprise Java EE application architecture. The Senior IBM Infrastructure engineer will be working with a team of highly talented software development professionals and will be responsible for support and development of new processes and tools which ensures successful and effective integration of fully functional and efficient software working products.

50% of your responsibilities will revolve around IBM Cloud deployment and support, with additional opportunities to collaborate with other Cloud providers like Azure and AWS.
You will be responsible for support and development of new processes and tools as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) which ensures successful and effective integration of fully functional and efficient software working products.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance of applications deployed to the IBM Cloud
Terraform IaC implementation/maintenance for production systems.
Support software tool customization and automation including deployment of templates, dashboards and scripts to support program needs
Improve and manage the software assembly process by following the best practices of configuration management.
Provide support for developers, and testers by analyzing operation processes and resolving issues.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

IBM services (Virtual Servers, VPC, IBM Container Registry, IBM Kubernetes, Auto scaling, Cloud Object Storage, IBM Databases, Identity Services, etc.)
Experience with Ansible, Puppet, and or Chef
Proficiency with Terraform IaC implementation/maintenance for production systems.
Experience with Scripting such as Python, Bash or related
Writing Jenkins pipelines using Groovy.
Networking and IPSec\Transit tunnels.
Using SCM, such as GIT.
Monitoring tools, ELK stack.
Strong ability to work across functional teams, including developers, testers, and business teams.
Attention to detail and relentlessly pursue excellence in producing quality deliverables.

Nice to have skills and experience:

Experience with Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure will be considered as plus
Building Java projects using Maven.
Experience with Ansible/Puppet/Chef.
Using SCM, such as GIT.
NoSQL or SQL databases: MSSQL, Postgres.
Monitoring tools, ELK stack.
Experience with Helm, Kubernetes, Docker or related
Understanding of microservices architecture.
Experience with security scan (OWASP/Anchore) and code quality (Sonar) tools.
