Data Architect

We’re looking for a Senior Data Architect to take the lead in designing and implementing a brand-new Data Management Platform (DMP) in Databricks. This is both a strategic and hands-on position, where you’ll define the data architecture vision, guide the development team, and ensure high-quality, scalable, and compliant data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Design: Lead the design of the DMP in Databricks, creating blueprints, workflows, and architectural patterns that ensure technical excellence and alignment with business goals.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and project management teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of solutions.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Translate complex business requirements into actionable technical designs in close collaboration with external partners.
• Quality Assurance: Review architecture, code, and design patterns, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
• Problem Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges with innovative and practical solutions.
• Leadership & Planning: Mentor the engineering team, oversee deliverables, and maintain architectural consistency across projects.

About You

• 8+ years of experience in data and software architecture.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing data platforms (Databricks experience strongly preferred).
• Skilled in IT/OT data, data modelling, analytics, governance, master data management, and system integration.
• Proficient in Python, Pandas, Jupyter Notebooks, and modern cloud-based data technologies.
• Strong understanding of application architecture (Docker, Kubernetes, and event-driven systems are a plus).
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills—able to translate business vision into technical reality.
• Proactive, hands-on, and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Fluent in English (Dutch is an advantage).
