Cloud Engineer

Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (80–100%) – Zurich or Hybrid

My client is an innovative technology company at the forefront of developing medical and scientific solutions that make a real impact on global health. They are seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain a robust global Cloud Platform infrastructure. This role combines technical excellence with purpose-driven innovation, enabling better access to life-changing health technologies worldwide.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and deliver scalable platform infrastructure services across global environments
• Manage software release cycles including bug fixes, security patches, and upgrades
• Evaluate and implement new tools, frameworks, and cloud services to enhance platform capabilities
• Support Verification & Validation (V&V) activities and production escalations
• Drive cost efficiency through optimized use of cloud services, licensing, and open-source solutions
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements
• Develop and improve automation processes using DevOps and GitOps practices
• Collaborate with Cloud Operations to implement governance strategies covering secure access, auditing, backup, and data residency
• Contribute to internal and external audits and continuous improvement initiatives

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in:
• Cloud infrastructure design (networking, automation, provisioning, access controls)
• Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
• DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub Actions) and GitOps tools (Argo CD, Kustomize)
• Kubernetes technologies, service mesh (Istio), and containerized architectures
• Scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash
• 3+ years of experience in:
• Software development (C#, Java, Go, Python, or JavaScript)
• Infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, Vagrant)
• Application security and monitoring tools (Trivy, Snyk, DataDog, Grafana, ELK, Jaeger)
• Application integration (RabbitMQ, Kafka, JMS, Azure Service Bus)
• Code management and CI/CD best practices
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Fluent in English; other languages are an advantage
