Business Context


The client operates across more than 30 locations, supporting 1,350 users on four continents, within both office and production environments. Our mission is to maintain a secure, high-performance, and reliable network infrastructure.


We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer to strengthen our global IT operations. The successful candidate will apply the right security layers across the network, server, and cloud landscape, ensuring robust protection, proactive monitoring, and continued improvement of our global IT environment.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in network and security projects, performing hands-on operations and optimizations.
  • Contribute to architecture-level discussions and technical decision-making.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all security-related incidents affecting systems and users.
  • Perform threat monitoring, incident detection, and analysis, investigating anomalies and providing reports to management.
  • Support and execute firewall, network, and security configurations in coordination with global IT teams.
  • Maintain accurate process, system, and user documentation.
  • Stay current on emerging security threats and technologies across:
  • End User Workplace Security (antivirus, system hardening)
  • Networking & Firewalling
  • Cloud Applications
  • Operational Technology (OT)
  • Servers and Virtualization
  • Serve as backup team lead when required.


Technical Environment


Networking & Security:

  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls – especially in initial setup and rule base design.
  • Azure Cloud Networking & Security expertise.
  • Strong understanding of Cisco networking (switching, routing, and deployment).
  • Experience with Cisco ISE, SDA, and Catalyst platforms.
  • Proficiency in LAN/WLAN/SD-WAN and Wireless network configurations.


Security Frameworks & Practices:

  • IT/OT segmentation experience.
  • Application of Zero Trust security principles.
  • Understanding of NIS2 compliance (a plus).
  • SOC/NOC operational experience.
  • Proven skills in incident response, detection, and monitoring.


Vulnerability & Risk Management:

  • End-to-end vulnerability management (detection, prioritization, patching).
  • Risk assessment and mitigation in complex hybrid environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Information Security, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Certifications (preferred):

  • Palo Alto: PCNSA, PCNSE
  • Microsoft: SC-200 (Security Operations Analyst), SC-300 (Identity & Access Administrator)
