2D Illustrator (Level Junior)

Dark Cloud Games is looking for a 2D Illustrator (Junior Level) to join our art team in the development of a Dark Fantasy RPG with Immersive Sim elements. The professional will be responsible for creating and refining characters, environments, icons, and visual assets that align with the game’s dark, symbolic, and mature visual identity.

🖌 Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating strong artistic fundamentals (composition, anatomy, color, and light).
• Experience with digital illustration tools such as Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, or Procreate.
• Ability to adapt to a semi-realistic, symbolic, and dark fantasy style.
• Basic understanding of UI/UX visual coherence in games.
• Knowledge of AI-based image generation workflows, preferably using AI Nodal or ComfyUI, for visual ideation and refinement.
• Basic Portuguese communication skills (sufficient for daily interaction).
• Nice to have: experience with vector art, 2D animation basics, or Unity asset preparation.

💼 Conditions

• Annual salary: €14,000.00 – €20,000.00, depending on experience.
• Contract: 2 years.
• Work model: On-site at the beginning, with transition to hybrid – Portugal.

🎨 About the Project

Development of a Dark Fantasy RPG with a complex narrative, administration and progression systems integrated into a web platform, and immersive 2D gameplay.

The project’s art direction draws inspiration from grotesque medieval symbolism, occult imagery, and stylized semi-realism.
