Product Manager Underwriting

We’re a cutting-edge tech enabled bank on a mission to revolutionize financing for small businesses across 7 markets in northern Europe. Our innovative solutions aim to simplify access to financing and enable growth for small businesses. As we scale, we’re looking for a Product Manager to lead the development of our underwriting products and processes, ensuring seamless, data-driven lending experiences tailored to the needs of small business customers while ensuring that our systems are robust, scalable and compliant.

About the role

As Product Manager for Underwriting, you will own the strategy, development, and execution of underwriting for small businesses. This role requires a deep understanding of the underwriting processes and the needs of small businesses. You will lead a cross-functional team and collaborate closely with the business teams to deliver efficient, scalable, compliant underwriting products that drive growth and customer satisfaction. As Product Manager for Underwriting, you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Strategy: Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and customer needs.

• Roadmap Development: Create and manage a product roadmap, prioritizing features and improvements based on data-driven insights, user feedback, and business impact.

• Innovation: Stay ahead of trends in financial services, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to improve our product suite and maintain our competitive edge.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work in a cross functional team with engineers, architects and UX and collaborate with e.g. data science, underwriters and compliance functions to define product requirements, ensure smooth development processes and deliver robust products.

• Performance Measurement: Monitor product performance through KPIs and analytics, identifying areas for optimization and growth.

• Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with product development and launch and develop strategies to mitigate risks and address challenges.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of proven experience as a Product Manager, preferably from regulated fintech companies, neobanks or banks. Experience in the area of credit origination is highly meriting

• Strong understanding of digital banking products, efficient platforms and credit risk in addition to an understanding of compliance requirements

• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize data, user feedback, and business goals into actionable product strategies

• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams

• Proficiency in JIRA and agile methodologies

• Fluency in English, written and spoken

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering or Computer Science is a plus
