Job Description

We are partnering with Belgium Defence to recruit an experienced Android Software Design Engineer for the ATAK platform. ATAK is a mission planning, geospatial, and Full Motion Video (FMV) tool used for enhanced situational awareness. The consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the Competence Center Communication and Information System (CCVC) to develop plugins for the ATAK platform and build internal expertise in Android application development and plugin integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team tasked with creating plugins for the ATAK platform.
  • Impart knowledge and expertise in Android application development using Kotlin.
  • Ensure the team is up to date with the latest development practices and methodologies.
  • Guide the team through the process of developing ATAK plugins using the SDK.
  • Support the implementation of the Third Party Pipeline procedures for plugin validation.


Required Skills And Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in Android Application Development.
  • Expertise in Kotlin and Java for mobile application development.
  • Knowledge of publishing applications in the Android Play Store.
  • ATAK knowledge is MANDATORY, with previous experience publishing ATAK plugins in the TAK Product Center.
  • Familiarity with TAK Dev Tool (preferred).
  • A Master's degree in IT Engineering or Electronics Engineering is preferred.


Languages:

  • English: Professional working proficiency required.
  • Dutch: Passive knowledge.
  • French: Passive knowledge.


Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to guide the team in plugin development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive in building internal knowledge and supporting team members.
  • Discreet and able to handle confidential information.
