Senior Power BI Analyst

Job Description

A leading international institution is seeking a Senior Power BI Analyst to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of its business intelligence and reporting systems. The selected consultant will work within the organization’s IT and Data Unit to strengthen data-driven decision-making through the integration of multiple data sources, the creation of efficient data models, and continuous improvement of visual analytics. This role focuses on Power BI and Power Platform components, including Dataverse, Power Apps, and Power Automate, and requires a strong technical background in delivering high-quality reporting and dashboarding solutions.

Key Responsibilities

● Develop and Maintain BI Models and Dashboards: Design, build, and maintain Power BI data models and dashboards to meet organizational reporting and analytical needs.

● Data Integration: Combine and transform data from multiple on-premises and cloud-based systems, including relational databases, SaaS tools, and web analytics platforms.

● Visualization and Reporting: Create insightful and accessible visualizations that support workflow analysis, operational monitoring, and strategic reporting.

● System Maintenance and Continuous Improvement: Provide evaluative and corrective maintenance for existing dashboards, implementing change requests and ensuring consistent reporting performance.

● Collaboration and Quality Assurance: Work closely with internal IT and data stakeholders to align deliverables with business requirements and data governance standards.

Required Expertise

● The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in developing and implementing Power BI reports and dashboards using a variety of data sources.

● Proven experience with Power BI and Power Platform components (Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate)

● Strong skills in DAX, M Query, SQL, Python, and Power Query

● Expertise in Power BI data modelling, transformation, and visualization (on-premises and cloud) ● Practical knowledge of other BI tools such as Kibana or AWS QuickSight

● Experience with ETL processes and Power BI performance optimization (e.g., query folding, optimizing visuals, minimizing data models)

● Familiarity with Power BI Administration (gateways, access management, workspaces)

● Experience integrating diverse data sources and formats (e.g., relational DBs, JSON, website analytics)

● Knowledge of GitLab or similar version control systems

● Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights ● Excellent communication skills and fluency in English Professional Experience

● Demonstrated experience in Power BI and Power Platform development, data modelling, and visualization

● Proven success in integrating multiple data sources and managing end-to-end reporting solutions

● Strong understanding of data transformation, pipeline design, and data quality best practices Work Environment

● Location: Brussels, Belgium

● Working Mode: 3 days onsite + hybrid flexibility (telework permitted within reasonable commuting distance)

● Collaboration: Close coordination with internal IT leadership and business intelligence teams
