Senior UX/UI Engineer - 6680

We are currently looking for an Senior UX/UI Engineer for an initial 10-month contract with extension to be based in Basel area Switzerland.

For this role we are looking for a Senior UX/UI Engineer who possesses exceptional coding expertise and a profound understanding of user experience design. In this role, you'll be a key player in shaping our product's future, translating complex problems into elegant, intuitive, and high-performing user interfaces that delight our users.

Main Responsibilities:

• Collect and review document metadata in our Database
• Architect, build, and maintain reliable, scalable, and beautifully crafted features for our core applications using React, TypeScript, and modern CSS.
• Be a key player in the entire design & development lifecycle from wireframing through to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and backend engineers to transform complex requirements into clean, high-quality, and maintainable code.
• Integrate seamlessly with our REST APIs to deliver robust user facing features.
• Champion and evolve our frontend best practices, ensuring high standards for code quality, performance, accessibility, and testability.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant Swiss working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required;
• 5+ years of professional experience building complex, user-facing web applications.
• Deep expertise in the modern JavaScript ecosystem, including React (Hooks, Context, State Management) and TypeScript.
• Proven experience in UI/UX design principles, with the ability to create wireframes or high-fidelity prototypes to guide development.
• A genuine passion for crafting exceptional, user-centric experiences within a complex environment. Willingness and drive to understand technical "business domains": you bring (end-user) experience in containerization & the Kubernetes ecosystem, e.g. because you were deploying frontend applications yourself using a Kubernetes cluster.
• Knowledgeable with CSS frameworks, preprocessors (e.g., Sass or Less), styled components.
• Familiarity with our core stack tools: ViteJS, TanStack Query, and Zustand.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI).
• Hands-on experience working with and integrating REST APIs effectively.
• Proficiency in writing meaningful, robust tests using frameworks like Vitest and React Testing Library.
• Excellent communication skills in English (German would be a plus) and collaboration skills.
