We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our team on a contractor basis. This role is structured as an independent contractor engagement, not an employee position. Responsibilities
- Document incident response procedures and maintain security protocols
- Conduct regular security audits and prepare compliance reports
- Perform daily security monitoring and vulnerability assessments
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field; Security certification preferred
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles
- Experience working with cloud infrastructures
- Strong skills in threat analysis, vulnerability assessment, risk management, incident response, and knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 27001)
- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection solutions
- Proven experience with incident response, risk assessment, and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
- Analytical thinking, strong attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
- Remote working experience
- Minimal travel, primarily for annual team meetings or occasional site assessments
- Flexible work schedule with a preference for EST time zone
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure), familiarity with DevSecOps practices
- Advanced scripting and AI model knowledge
